Friday Inspiration: Case Study Houses

Posted: January 29th, 2010 | Author: Emily | Filed under: Our Inspiration | No Comments »

stahleveThere are so many cool things to explore in the history of design and architecture. One of our favorite slices of architectural history is the Case Study House program, which ran from 1945-1966. Arts & Architecture magazine commissioned architects to design and build high-efficency, modern houses and some of the results were just mindblowing!

One of the houses we’re most fond of is the Stahl House in West Hollywood. So iconic!

A&A actually has a really great, comprehensive overview of the houses on their website, you should definitely check it out but you have to register with their site. If you don’t want to go to that trouble, Wikipedia has a nice guide as well! Very inspirational for home design and decor, even to this day! There are so many ways to be innovative and creative, it makes us so glad we work in the design world!

Which Case Study House is YOUR favorite?
